Chopping The Competition

Script

In the dojo, several rows of students are lined up in front of their sensei with arms folded behind their back. Instead of wooden boards there is a stack of Mac laptops next to him.

He holds open a Mac laptop above his head horizontally. He motions for a student to come up to the front of the class. They both bow to one another.

Sensei

(smiling mischievously, he speaks loudly to the student)

NO mercy.

The student karate chops it in half shouting a loud “hiyahhh!” as the Mac laptop breaks and crashes to the floor.

Seeming pleased, both the student and sensei bow to one another once again, and the student goes back to the line.

Sensei

(projecting voice loudly to the students)

You must rise to the challenge!

The sensei stands with his arms folded behind his back and continues the same process with three more students, grabbing a brand-new Mac laptop each time.

[the dojo suddenly grows silent]

The camera follows along a new student (Daniel LaRusso) from behind, walking into the dojo. The new student is holding a Microsoft Surface in one hand and is slowly approaching the sensei.

Once he reaches the sensei, Daniel LaRusso is revealed, played by actor Ralph Macchio from The Karate Kid.

LaRusso bows before the sensei. The sensei, confused, bows to him as well. Daniel LaRusso presents the sensei with the Microsoft Surface opened. Still confused, the sensei holds it open, and Daniel LaRusso karate chops it in half. Both the tablet and keyboard fall to the ground, making a quiet thud.

Daniel LaRusso

(talking to the camera)

When the fight comes to you, you have to be ready to fight back.

LaRusso then bends down to pick up each half. He holds in the air the tablet in one hand and the keyboard in another, demonstrating it to the class. LaRusso snaps the tablet and keyboard both back together.

[shocked gasps and quiet whispering is heard throughout the dojo]

Daniel LaRusso

(talking to the camera)

Experience the best of Windows 11 with Microsoft Surface. A 2-in-1 PC that makes it easier to be efficient, Windows 11 has everything you need for whatever's next.

LaRusso hands the Microsoft Surface back to the sensei.

LaRusso then does a front flip and karate kicks the Microsoft Surface in half again that the sensei was holding up.

Daniel LaRusso

(speaking to the sensei and dojo)

Snap on, snap off.

Daniel LaRusso bows to the camera. The camera zooms out to show the whole dojo bowing to LaRusso, including the sensei.
