Traditional celebrations that are associated with cake/ice cream cake consumption, adult and children’s birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers, etc. are less frequent now. Ice cream cake sales have stagnated due to an increase in the single population of the US. People who are single and childless purchase less cakes.
